Küberit – A Long European History Supports a Rapid-Growth Trajectory in North America
Küberit's German facility where hundreds of profile designs are manufactured.
Founded in 1863, Küberit would develop its iconic brand across Germany and 66 other countries for 157 years before finding the right business partner with which to introduce its profile products in North America. In 2020, that partner was found with TMT America when the two companies announced a strategic alliance to introduce and develop Küberit across North America.
The comprehensive line of Küberit products, including trim, edge, transition, expansion, ramping, stair-nosing, and wall protection profiles are marketed and supported by Küberit USA. The venture has profiles for every project, design and surface. The Küberit brand is positioned with elegance and sophistication paired with engineering excellence, supporting its development with the fundamental statement, every profile tells a story™ . Küberit designs and manufactures innovative floor and wall profiles with multiple finishes, functions, shapes and installation methods, raising the aesthetic of every space with functional solutions.

TMT America is the entrepreneurial ventures firm founded in 2012 by Thomas Trissl after he sold Centiva, the LVT flooring brand and manufacturing operation he started and developed for 16 years. Eleven years ago, TMT America introduced German-subfloor-manufacturer Schönox to North America. Schönox engineering and quality are now well recognized throughout the Americas with expanding brand awareness, adoption and comprehensive support. TMT is following the same path for Küberit with resounding brand marketing and world-class customer service.

Designers and project planners quickly shop and select Küberit profiles with the company's innovative specification system.
Organized within just seven categories, Küberit profiles are quickly understood, selected and specified. Once the category selection is made, a Küberit profile with the required shape and function is chosen. From there, specifiers need only select their desired finishes and options. Multiple shapes, functions, finishes and options are available, but all are integrated within the overarching profile categories.

Project planners using Küberit profiles now have a valuable sample resource with Swatchbox.
Adoption of Küberit has been brisk in the U.S. especially among flooring professionals, designers and specifiers looking to solve flooring challenges, make exciting design statements, and introduce something new for their projects. Growing awareness is the company’s top priority – once customers learn about the Küberit product advantages and experience the design and style details, most make the switch to Küberit.

Küberit Expansion profiles allow expansion joints to move without damage to floor coverings.
The progress Küberit has made in the North American market was affirmed at the 2022 NeoCon show where Küberit won the silver award in the Best of NeoCon competition for the company’s Expansion Profile product. The innovative profile was recognized for its functional performance while making an aesthetic statement. The unique construction of the profile allows movement of expansion joints without damage to the floor coverings, solving decades-long flooring problems with an innovative design and functional solution for use with any floor covering.

Küberit USA's John Solberg, Karen Bellinger, and Rhyal Knight accept the Silver Award at the Best of NeoCon competition.
“At Küberit, we say every profile tells a story – the totality of those stories is writing the Küberit story in North America, profile by profile and project by project,” explained Karen Bellinger, executive director, Küberit USA. “We’ve made great progress in these early years – staying true to our goals for aesthetic and functional profiles, solving project challenges and enhancing each design will fuel our storytelling moving forward.”
