Turning the Tide with Data Tide Carpet Planks
Mohawk Group’s Data Tide, a collection of modular carpet planks, seeks to explore the symbiotic relationship between nature and data through the visualization of water. “Data Tide’s three coordinating patterns – Aqua Rhythm, Biome and River Code - feature a combination of solid, heathered and twisted yarns for a dimensional texture that reflects water’s movement,” said Royce Epstein, Mohawk Group’s A&D design director. Nature Inspires Carlisle’s Earthen Collection
Carlisle Wide Plank Floors has introduced the Earthen, a collection of hand-crafted of hickory sourced from northern climates, focusing on Shagbark and Bitternut versions of the species. This results in a dense grain and richer beige-to-brown tone in the heartwood. Some tones highlight the heart sap variation found in hickory, bringing a more contemporary feel to the floor, while – in other tones – this variation is subdued, creating subtle shifts in color and a more aged and organic appearance.
