We’re Headed to Orlando

Our team is back on the road again in July, this time to Orlando for Coverings and the NWFA 2021 Wood Flooring Expo, which are simultaneously hosting their events at the Orange County Convention Center July 7-9.

“We know from our membership surveys that NWFA members generally install and distribute multiple types of hard surface flooring,” said NWFA President and CEO Michael Martin. “Combining the education and show floor for real wood, with the education and show floor for natural tile and stone, provides our members with opportunities to see more products in one place. They essentially will be getting two shows, at the same time, both of which promote natural flooring products.”

Jennifer Hoff, President of Taffy Event Strategies, which manages Coverings, says that “co-locating with NWFA’s Expo helps Coverings reaffirm its commitment to provide a safe, in-person event that unites the natural, hard surface flooring industry.”

Chuck Fowke, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders, will give an industry update at the NWFA Expo on July 7. Fowke is a custom home builder with 40 years of industry experience.

In addition to new products, brands and product demonstrations, there is a full schedule of education. Our very own editorial director of installation, Jon Namba, will host four talks: the Science of Field Testing, Creating Herringbone and Chevron Patterns on the Jobsite; Regional Climate Variation Impact on Wood Flooring; Preparing a Floor for Texture and Pre-Color Conditioners; and demo multi-layered flooring systems.

Covering also has a full educational roster, including international pavilions, tile and stone exhibits from around the globe, live installation demonstrations, Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards, Rock Stars, and complimentary educational

New to Coverings 2021 are the Coverings Lounge, Society of American Mosaic Artists exhibits, co-location with the National Wood Flooring Association, and extended show hours.

Mosaic tile projects will be unveiled by Luna Mosaic Arts and the National Tile Con-tractors Association (NTCA) in the Coverings Lounge. Visitors can expect to see Luna Mosaic Arts creating a tile mosaic onsite during the show, with additional mosaic projects on display. NTCA will present a live broadcast demonstration of designing, building and installing a mosaic tile project, highlighting the historical importance of tile installation as an artisan craft.
